Wambanyama Block Shooting Party… SAS Shockwave

The San Antonio Spurs suffered a 22-point upset loss at home. 2023 first-round draft pick Victor Wembanyama (20 points, nine rebounds, four assists) had a block party with five blocked shots, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the loss.
San Antonio suffered a 116-123 upset loss to the Toronto Raptors in the 2023-2024 NBA regular season on Saturday night at FrostBank Center.

The loss was the Spurs’ third of the season. It was a disappointing game in more ways than one.

San Antonio completely dominated Toronto, leading by as many as 22 points in the first half. The one-two punch of Keldon Johnson and Victor Wembanyama dominated on both ends of the floor. Pascal Siakam (Toronto) missed both of his first-half free throws and the gap between the two teams widened, and with a 22-point lead, San Antonio looked to be in control. 보스토토

But in the second half, San Antonio’s game fell apart. Johnson’s shooting remained hot, but Wen-Banyama’s shots kept falling, while Toronto used a 25-point outburst from Scotty Barnes to pull away from San Antonio.

Just before the end of the fourth quarter, San Antonio led 110-108. Dennis Schroder’s three-pointer missed as time expired, and it looked like they were going to win. But OG Anunoby grabbed the offensive rebound and scored on a putback at the buzzer, sending the game into dramatic overtime.

San Antonio was devastated to have the win slip through their fingers, and it showed in overtime. Toronto had all five of their players on the floor, while San Antonio was left with Wembanyama struggling alone. The lead quickly went to Toronto, and the game ended in a Toronto victory.

Wembanyama was a solid presence on defense, recording five blocked shots on the night. However, his late-game shooting left something to be desired. He scored late in overtime, but the game was already out of reach.
