Iniesta has been with Vissel Kobe in the Japanese J-League for the past five seasons, and had a farewell match on July 1st. After that, he became a free agent (FA), and foreign media reported that he arrived in Dubai on the 7th and signed a one-year contract with the Emirates club. He may extend his contract until June 2025.
He played just 94 minutes in 18 appearances for Vissel Kobe last season. After playing his last game for Vissel Kobe, he said, “I had a hard time not playing after putting my mind into training. He has had a lot of experience over the past five years.”
Iniesta started his career as a professional player at FC Barcelona, where he won 9 Spanish La Liga titles and 4 UEFA Champions League titles in 16 seasons.
He participated in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa as a member of the Spanish national team and led the team to victory by scoring the winning goal in the final. He was also a key member of Spain’s Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 victories.
